Grameen Marathon for the youth of rural regions in Delhi

Press Information Bureau Government of India Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports 06-August-2017 17:39 IST Grameen Marathon for the youth of rural regions in Delhi Ministry for Youth Affairs and Sports here today organized the first Grameen Marathon for the youth of rural regions in Delhi. The marathon started from Nizampur village in Delhi with around 11,000 participants. Arjun Awardee and ace badminton coach Pullela Gopichand was the Chief Guest at the flag off ceremony. He encouraged the young participants and said that this a unique initiative by the Sports Ministry under the leadership of Sports Minister Vijay Goel. Gopichand further stated that this will enable us to scout for hidden talent in rural regions and train them for future. Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Vijay Goel had earlier mentioned that such initiatives would go a long way in providing a platform to talented youngsters to represent India. Smriti Zubin Irani Textiles Minister inaugurates camp on Weavers’ MUDRA loans and Hathkargha Samvardhan Sahayata Schemes for Handloom weavers Third National Handloom Day to be celebrated in Guwahati: Union Textiles Minister The Union Textiles Minister Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani has announced that weavers will henceforth be able to avail a wide array of Government services from Weavers’ Service Centres (WSCs). The Minister said that besides providing technical assistance, the WSCs will serve as a one-stop centre for weavers, providing various services, including banking, passport, insurance, PAN card, voter ID and AADHAAR. The Minister added that weavers will also be able to pay their electricity bills and undertake online courses at WSCs. There are 28 WSCs under the Office of Developm
