                                                                   Press Release                                                                                   3rd March , 2016 CAIT STRONGLY OPPOSE FDI IN FOOD SECTOR Despite declarations and announcements made by the Prime Minister on several occasions for empowerment of small businesses in the Country, the Government seems to be much lethargic and having least bothered about trading community of the Country which is generally considered as strong vote bank of BJP. The recent budget announcement of allowing 100% FDI in food sector and levy of 1% excise on jewelry trade has irked the trading community-said the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT).  “We urge Prime Minister to give us an audience and listen our sufferings since more than 6 crore small businesses are largest employment providers in service sector and economy generators contributing 45% to GDP. It is deeply regretted that no priority is given to
